What’s the best Just Energy plan?
Just Energy plans offers fixed rates on a 12-month, 24-month, or 36-month term length. Plans have a $175 early termination fee. A few of the plans the company offers are:
- Base Saver III. This fixed rate 12-month plan is the company’s most affordable and does not include any monthly fees. Plus, you can receive a $75 credit when your monthly usage is more than 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh).
- Weekends Free. On this 12-month plan, you get free electricity on the weekends, starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
- Just400 Plus 24. This two-year plan offers customers a $200 bill credit each December, allowing users to focus on enjoying the holiday season.
Standard features in Just Energy plans are weekly usage emails, a free mobile app, online bill pay, and bonuses for referring friends. Not all plans will be available in all parts of the state, and your usage will be the biggest factor in finding your best plan.

Is Just Energy a good company?
In a market as confusing as Texas’, it’s important to measure the quality of each provider available. That’s why Atlas has rated all the providers we show on site, so you know what you’re getting. Here’s how Just Energy stacked up:
Just Energy rating: 3.7 stars
On our review sheet, Just Energy soared to the top in online accessibility (which includes things such as online bill pay, usage alerts, and chat customer support) as well as years in business. The company also earned points for its satisfaction guarantee. What brought the score down was lack of Better Business Bureau accreditation as well as a poor complaint score with the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
Which provider has the cheapest Texas electricity rates?
This is a challenging question as electricity rates can change daily due to movement in the market. That means the provider with the lowest rates yesterday might not have the lowest today. Additionally, a cheap rate doesn’t also equal the lowest bill. For example, one provider’s plan may have a higher rate than another, but through credits or incentives, you may end up paying less. In addition to rates, you’ll want to know what current customers think by looking at Just Energy reviews.
